Carl August Liner and Carl Walter Liner are well-known painters
even beyond the borders of Switzerland. The Appenzell Liner
Museum was opened in 1998 with works from both father and
son Liner.
The
Appenzell museum containing history, embroidery and changing
exhibitions can be found in the center of town. In addition
there are the Museum zum Blauen Haus (The Blue House Museum)
and several galleries and art workshops.
