With its 14 double rooms and 2 single rooms, the Hotel Appenzell is an ideal starting point to explore the historic location and the wonderful landscape. For more than 30 years the family Sutter has been leading the house on the famous Landsgemeindeplatz. In 2014 Stephan and Denise Sutter took over responsibility for the traditional company. "We lead our inn with joy, care and love for the Appenzellian. We want to show this not only with our hospitality, but also with the restaurant and the in-house confectionery, which offer a rich selection of regional and international specialties, "says Stephan Sutter. The rich menu, which also contains many vegetarian dishes, is accompanied by a seasonal menu every three months. "We cultivate the Appenzell cuisine and rely on locally sourced meat and local vegetables," explains Denise Sutter. These always fresh and seasonal ingredients are carefully prepared and served.

The Hotel Appenzell is the perfect place to take a walk in the intact, multi-faceted nature of the Appenzellerland. Family Sutter offers suitable accommodation arrangements. These include the holiday card for rail and post bus trips throughout the Appenzellerland, as well as a gala dinner or a multi-course Appenzeller dessert. "Along the barefoot trail there is the meteo trail, the mountain trail, the Kapellen circular path and the well-developed hiking trail network with varied trails in the valley, on the hills and in the Säntisgebirge," says Stephan Sutter. And to make sure that such an exciting day of hiking starts well, the guest will of course be served a varied breakfast with oven-fresh bread from their own bakery.
