Welcome to Café-Hotel Appenzell

We are Denise and Stephan Sutter-Reichenbach, and we are delighted to welcome you to Café-Hotel Appenzell.

For more than 40 years, our hotel and restaurant have been part of the Sutter family. As the second generation, we have had the privilege of managing Café-Hotel Appenzell since 2014 with great passion, dedication, and a deep connection to our region. For us, hospitality is much more than a profession – it is a way of life that we share every day with our team.

Our goal is to make you feel at home from the very first moment. Whether you join us for a coffee on the terrace, a delicious meal, a short getaway, or a longer stay in the Appenzell region, we want to offer you a place where you feel genuinely welcome.

One of our greatest passions is gastronomy. In our restaurant and confectionery, we combine Appenzell traditions with seasonal and international influences. Our menu is regularly enriched with new seasonal specialties and offers a wide selection of dishes, including many vegetarian options.

Quality and regionality are at the heart of everything we do. Many of our ingredients come from Appenzell and the surrounding area. Meat from local farms, fresh regional vegetables, and carefully selected products from local producers form the foundation of our cuisine. With great care and respect for these ingredients, we create dishes that reflect the authentic flavours of our homeland.

We are proud of our roots, the traditions of our house, and our unique location in the heart of Appenzell, directly on the historic Landsgemeinde Square.
